Employee Fund!

Our residents wish our employees good tidings.

Our residents recently showed the Westminster Canterbury Richmond staff the true meaning of the Christmas spirit and seasonal generosity. Working together, residents raised and donated a record amount of money to the Employee Christmas Fund (ECF). Full-time staff members received approximately $1,000 each (part-timers a little less) as an expression of gratitude for their service and support throughout the past year.

“It really is a love fest here,” says Gayle Haglund, Director Resource Development. “The gift presentation forges such a meaningful connection between the staff and residents and there were lots of smiles and joyful tears. We strive to improve the lives of those we serve every day. Our residents show their appreciation in many ways, but this over-the-top, generous acknowledgement is so special.”

As hundreds of staff filed into the Sara Belle November Theater singing the carol “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” many residents stood and applauded. The word “carol” actually means dance or a song of praise and joy, which was very fitting for the annual occasion! Growing from our roots in faith, Westminster Canterbury Foundation nurtures the spirit of generosity. Though we experience beautiful generosity in so many ways each day here, sometimes – like during this celebration – it takes our breath away. As always, please feel free to contact Gayle Haglund to learn more. ghaglund@wcrichmond.org or (804) 264-6702.
