2023 National Nurses Week Awards Celebration

“For the sick, it is important to have the best.” — Florence Nightingale

Caring. Ethics. Leadership. Teamwork. Innovation. Commitment. Stewardship. The nursing staff at Westminster Canterbury Richmond embodies these core values – our core values! – in everything they do. Their efforts are noticed and respected, through the kind regards offered by the residents who receive their loving care, the deep respect and appreciation from families, and the genuine admiration of our entire community. We are so blessed by the level of commitment and expertise our wonderful caregivers demonstrate every day. They strive to be the best they can be for our residents, and they elevate the integrity of the nursing profession.

As we join other communities throughout the country in celebrating National Nurses Week, which begins on May 6 every year in honor of Florence Nightingale, let us reflect on the magnificent difference our nurses make in our community and world. Think of their selfless contributions and the sacrifices they make to ensure the best life possible for others. What would we do without them?

During Nurses Week, we celebrate our caregiving staff and host the annual Nurses Week Awards Celebration, where we present the Frances May Tabb Awards to four Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and the Clinical Excellence Award to one RN or LPN. This year’s award ceremony took place on Thursday, May 11. Congratulations to our 2023 Tabb Award and Clinical Excellence Award recipients!

We offer a wholehearted thank you for all you are and do every day!
