Celebrating Two Amazing Women

Each year, Westminster Canterbury Richmond celebrates the birthday anniversary of Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans, in honor of our greatest benefactor. Mrs. Evans’ foundations have given more than $11 million throughout our 45-year history to support Westminster Canterbury Foundation’s Fellowship Program, which provides housing, meals, medical care and all the vital living available at Westminster Canterbury to more than 100 seniors-in-need who otherwise could not afford to live here.

We honor Mrs. Evans’ legacy with the annual presentation of the Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Award. This is Westminster Canterbury’s highest honor and recognizes leaders whose service has significantly advanced our mission. Although we could not gather in person for Lettie Pate Day this year as we traditionally do, we are excited to share our virtual 2021 Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans Day Program!

This year’s award recipient is Westminster Canterbury resident Lucy Boswell Negus. In 1980, Lucy established Westminster Canterbury Foundation to raise funds for our community’s Fellowship Program. Under her 25+ year leadership, the Foundation grew to support many programs that provide a true margin of excellence.

We know you will enjoy this virtual program as we celebrate Lucy’s legacy of service and the birthday anniversary of Lettie Pate Whitehead Evans!
