COVID-19 Updates

This week, a second Independent Living resident of the Tower tested positive for COVID-19 and is quarantined at home. We have completed contact tracing. Anyone who may have been exposed has been contacted. There does not appear to be a correlation between the two cases in Independent Living.

An employee of Materials Management also tested positive for COVID-19 while in quarantine after a prior exposure. Currently, two employees who tested positive are recovering in quarantine at home.

Vaccination Update

Around 213 Assisted Living residents and employees received their second COVID-19 vaccine dose on Tuesday, February 16. Independent Living residents and some employees will receive their second vaccine dose on February 24-25. If you have questions or need assistance, please call the Vaccine Helpline at (804) 200-1570, leave a message and someone will return your call.

Follow the Core Principles of COVID-19 Infection Prevention

Westminster Canterbury follows the latest guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) in our response to the pandemic. Even if you have been vaccinated, please continue to follow these principles. Always wear a mask when around others. Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer. Maintain social distancing of at least six feet. Stay home if you do not feel well and contact your physician. Avoid crowds. Follow CDC travel guidance. Follow quarantine guidance after exposure to someone with COVID-19.
