Thank you for your support as we move forward with vaccination and share good news from this week!
Vaccination Update
Independent Living COVID-19 vaccination began on Wednesday and Thursday, February 3-4. A total of 533 vaccinations were given during the two-day clinic in partnership with CVS Health. Thank you to all involved for your support that helped this vaccination clinic run smoothly! Assisted Living residents and some employees will receive their second vaccine dose on February 15-16. Independent Living residents will receive their second vaccine dose on February 24-25.
Resident Cases
One resident from Mary Morton Parsons Health Center Third Floor continues to recover in the COVID-19 positive unit. Third Floor will remain in quarantine until Thursday, February 11.
Employee Cases
Many employees who previously tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and returned to work. This week, a Dining employee tested positive for COVID-19. Four employees are currently recovering in quarantine.
Follow the Core Principles of COVID-19 Infection Prevention
Westminster Canterbury follows the latest guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) in our response to the pandemic. Even if you have been vaccinated, please continue to follow these principles. Always wear a mask when around others. Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer. Maintain social distancing of at least six feet. Stay home if you do not feel well and contact your physician. Avoid crowds. Follow CDC travel guidance. Follow quarantine guidance after exposure to someone with COVID-19.
