So, What Did they Say?

We’ve been imagining and working toward a Richmond, VA, region (affectionately known as RVA) where all people live life well and where the needs of elders are fully met.  Our recent Live Life Well RVA Symposium explored healthy aging and brought to light the recently completed community needs study commissioned by Westminster Canterbury Foundation to explore the barriers and challenges to healthy aging in our region.  Seven excellent speakers shared vital information about the discovered needs and what is happening across our region to assure that people can indeed live life well.  Our new website, www.livelifewellrva.org, now features videos of each speaker on the Symposium tab.  You can also download the full Community Needs Assessment Report and a one-page Key Findings document.  Links to the speakers and partner organizations can be found on the Partners tab.  We invite you to visit the site, explore the barriers and challenges we know exist – and then choose ONE NEW THING you can do to be of help!  When you do, please tell us your stories and we’ll share them!  Wouldn’t it be marvelous if in our region, all people live life well!

Here is a link to our final speaker, Dr. E. Ayn Welleford from VCU School of Gerontology, who challenges us to disrupt ageism together:
