Experience Something New

An active and enriching lifestyle is at the heart of Westminster Canterbury Richmond. Each season brings a variety of opportunities for residents to discover new interests, deepen existing passions, and connect with friends. This July through September offers engaging speakers and spiritual programs to exciting performances, wellness activities, memorable outings, and special events in honor of our country’s 250th anniversary.
The Sara Belle November Theater will be filled with music, laughter, and inspiration. Highlights include performances by America’s Sweethearts, Griffin House, Virginia Opera, Bachelors of Broadway: Gentlemen of the Theatre, and acclaimed pianist Ilya Yakushev, along with comedy, dance, films from the Richmond International Film Festival, historical reenactments, and the Westminster Canterbury Forum featuring Meg Hughes of the Valentine.
The Excursions program offers residents opportunities to explore history, culture, dining, and entertainment throughout Virginia. Highlights include a performance at Hanover Tavern, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, a Richmond Flying Squirrels game, visits to the Muscarelle Museum, Mount Vernon, and Maymont Mansion, as well as concerts, dining outings, and a Washington Nationals game. These excursions provide engaging ways to learn, connect, and enjoy new experiences.
The Wellness program encourages residents to thrive through activities, education, and healthy habits that support overall well-being. Seasonal programs focus on hydration, self-care, healthy aging, balance, nutrition, and fall prevention, complemented by fitness classes, aquatics programs, wellness challenges, and educational sessions designed to promote lifelong health and vitality.
The Pastoral Care program offers opportunities for reflection, learning, and connection through intergenerational programs, spiritual retreats, educational presentations, and Bible study. Together, these experiences encourage spiritual growth, meaningful conversation, and deeper connections with one another and the wider community.
Complete season details are available in our Performing Arts, Pastoral Care, Wellness and Excursions brochures. Assurance members interested in attending any of these programs may register on the MyWCR App.
