The following updates were shared.

John Burns

Reopening and visitation are going well! It has been wonderful to see visitors and to see so many enjoying programs in the Sara Belle November Theater, McGue-Millhiser Arts Studio, fitness classes and more. With the beautiful spring weather forecasted this weekend, we encourage you to enjoy the outdoors during your visits!

Reopening Updates

Guidelines for visitation remain the same. Everyone who comes to campus must be screened, regardless of their vaccination status. If a loved one is dropping something off or picking up a resident, they do not have to go through screening. If they are coming to visit, inside or outside, they must go through the screening process and receive a wristband. Visitors should wear a mask at all times, whether inside or outside. Visitation is only permitted in resident apartments and outside. Visitation in public spaces, dining rooms and lobby areas is not permitted.

Independent Living

In Independent Living, a maximum of two visitors per resident or resident couple is allowed in your home. Residents may visit with more than two visitors outside as long as proper social distancing of six feet or more is followed. We are not limiting the number of visitors outside, but we do ask you to be mindful of social distancing and others who may be visiting outside nearby. Children are only permitted if they are able to wear a mask and maintain proper social distancing.

Overnight visitation in Independent Living residences must be prearranged through Resident Services by calling (804) 264-6082. Please call to make the arrangements during the week, Monday through Friday, during business hours. Please refer to the Independent Living Overnight Visitation Guidelines for more details. Additional information is available on our website at www.WCRICHMOND.org.

Project Updates

Several exciting projects are ongoing, and new projects will be starting in the next few weeks.

Tower Laundry Rooms

Laundry machines will be installed on March 31. Laundry Rooms will reopen on April 1. Renovation to Laundry Rooms on other floors will not begin for approximately one week to ensure the newly renovated spaces are operational and functioning correctly.

Tower Lounges and Hallways

Cabinet work will begin on the Third Floor this week. Finish work continues on the Third Floor, including painting. Hallway painting and trim work will be completed on the Fourth Floor early next week. Next Monday, on the First Floor, trim work, demo of existing carpet base and wall repair will begin. An air scrubber will operate during drywall sanding to ensure the dust is contained.

Avalon

Work on HVAC units is in process in resident apartments. All HVAC units have been delivered to the roof.

We are excited to improve two spaces on the Avalon Fourth Floor. Upgrades to the Quiet Room and Theater Room are underway. Cabinet installation will begin in April. This project will be completed in April.

Avalon Corridors will have new carpet and base installed after the HVAC replacement project is completed. A start date will be announced in April.

Apartment Renovations

Apartment renovations in the Tower and Courtyard and planned renovations in the Garden Apartments are ongoing. Noisy demolition work will only occur from 9 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m. during the week. At other times the noise should be minimal. Please contact Tom Henning at ext. 6033 immediately if there is any noise issue outside of these times.
